The Client
Following the success of Phase 1, Elements Europe was again selected to manufacture and deliver Bathroom Pods for Phase 2 of the University of Warwick student residences development.
Working in collaboration with Kier Construction, Phase 1 was successfully delivered in 2009. With Shepherd Construction appointed as the main contractor to deliver Phase 2, Elements Europe’s Solopod Bathroom Pod system was again implemented, resulting in the delivery of over 1000 Bathroom Pods in total within Phases 1 and 2.
Project Description: Over 1000 Bathroom Pods
The Phase 2 extension saw the construction of six blocks of four storey accommodation, providing the University with an additional 538 bedrooms. Six universally accessible Pods were supplied, all of which were fully tiled and designed according to the specification required by the University.
The scheme was required to achieve a BREEAM excellent standard, therefore Elements Europe worked with Shepherd Construction to design a Pod that would assist in achieving this standard. Features included energy efficient lighting activated from motion detectors, low level water usage shower heads, taps, and dual flush toilet cisterns.
