Elements Europe and JR Pickstock Ltd, both members of The Pickstock Group, will collaborate to deliver a 120 bed Premier Inn Hotel in Exeter along with two levels of basement car parking. The construction value of the development is £9.7 million and is being delivered for Plymouth based private investor client, Trathen Properties.
The project will be a turnkey solution by JR Pickstock Ltd. The main construction contract and project management will be undertaken by JR Pickstock Ltd, whilst sister company Elements Europe will manufacture and install their Room Pods system. Implementation of the Room Pod building system will result in an expedited construction program, a considerable benefit to the client who will be able to open the hotel much earlier to derive revenue. The off-site proportion of the work represents circa £2.4 million of the overall construction contract.
The fully volumetric Room Pods will be manufactured to the strict specification of Premier Inn ID3++ dark standards. Elements Europe will also provide linen rooms, stair cores, corridor cassettes and the flat roof structure for the development. The site is located on sloping ground and will incorporate a double level of insitu-cast concrete structure to accommodate two levels of underground parking below the hotel.
The site was previously a car park and is located next to the Crown and County Court. This is an ideal location and will be the only budget hotel in Exeter’s city centre.
Elements Europe has previously delivered Room Pods and Solopods for nine Premier Inn hotel developments throughout the country, working with their parent company (to provide turnkeys) and other contractors to successfully achieve the standards of the Whitbread Group Plc.
Construction of the Premier Inn is due to be completed by the first quarter of 2015.
