Job Purpose:
As the Manufacturing Facilities Manager at Elements Europe, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of the company’s manufacturing facility. This includes ensuring that the building, equipment, and production environment meet operational, safety, and environmental standards. You will work closely with the production teams to ensure that facilities management contributes to optimal manufacturing output, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilities Management
- Ensure facility maintenance is carried out to a high standard, including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and building structure.
- Plan and oversee repairs and upgrades to manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage contractors and service providers for specialised repairs and maintenance work.
- Monitor utilities consumption (electricity, water, gas) and introduce energy-saving initiatives to reduce costs.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure that all facilities comply with UK health and safety regulations, including fire safety, hazardous materials handling, and workplace safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across the manufacturing site, addressing any issues or improvements.
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety Officer to ensure that safety policies are up-to-date and followed by all personnel.
- Ensure emergency response plans and equipment are in place and operational, including fire alarms, exits, and drills.
- Budget & Cost Management
- Manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality or safety.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors and service providers, securing competitive rates for maintenance and repair services.
- Track and report on facilities expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Equipment & Inventory Management
- Oversee the maintenance and efficient use of manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Monitor equipment performance, identifying when repairs or replacements are necessary.
- Maintain a log of inventory and spare parts to ensure critical components are available when needed for repairs.
- Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of facilities technicians and support staff, providing training, guidance, and performance reviews.
- Develop and implement staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage across shifts.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team, encouraging proactive problem-solving and knowledge-sharing.
- Continuous Improvement & Efficiency
- Work closely with production teams to support lean manufacturing initiatives, identifying areas where facilities management can contribute to reducing waste and increasing output.
- Participate in cross-departmental meetings to ensure facilities management is aligned with overall production goals.
- Lead or contribute to capital projects that enhance the facility’s operational efficiency, such as new equipment installations or layout changes.
- Environmental Sustainability
- Ensure the facility complies with environmental regulations and sustainability targets, focusing on waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency.
- Identify and implement green building initiatives and renewable energy options, working towards more sustainable manufacturing practices.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a facilities management role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance budgets and control operational costs.
- Experience managing HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies or breakdowns.
- Experience in managing teams and external contractors effectively.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external service providers.
Desirable:
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, facilities management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy efficiency projects.

Working Conditions:
- This role is primarily based at Elements Europe’s manufacturing facility in Telford, with occasional travel to other sites.
- You will be expected to work across multiple shifts and may need to respond to facility emergencies outside of normal working hours.

Quality:
Audit completion of Inspection Test Plan/ Inspection Test Report (ITP/ ITR) by production and subcontractors
Provide additional independent ITP/ITR completion upon request from QAM/Supervisors
Develop ITP / ITR checks with technical compliance.
Review drawing Packs for completeness and establishment of the PCP/ACC
Documents systems of work employed to carry out activity.
Cost
Prevention rather than cure.
Support line manager to develop FMEA documents for assembly activities.
Apply RCA (root cause analysis) to issue solving.
Delivery
Audit programme closes out work packages.
Develop workflow with Planner to formalise ‘close out’.
Communication
Enter into direct dialogue at all levels within Manufacturing.
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will perform quality checks on finished PODs and Modules, monitoring Factory production using measurement tools to ensure correct quality is maintained.
The successful candidate will also manage, and control calibrate testing equipment verification, and conduct Internal audits and ensure that company policy and procedures in relation to ‘best practice’ workflows are adhered to.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Quality Audit – you will be inspecting modular buildings and bathroom PODs for quality defects.
- Conduct final inspections of PODs and Modules.
- Inspect final product and compare to requirements.
- Document Control – complete and process all relevant quality assurance documentation.
- Manage the PCP Process both on paper format and through ACC (Autodesk)
- Identify NCR’s and assist with route cause analysis.
- Support with the NCR process.
- Supporting the ISO9001 process and other Accreditation support when required (BOPAS ISO Etc).
- Assessing the product’s quality by testing for a range of features and seeing how the product performs and conforms to the required standards and tolerances and is compliant to drawings and specification.
- To work closely with the Production teams monitoring and ensuring that all aspects of the Quality and H&S on the factory floor is adhered to.
- To ensure paperwork in circulation is of the correct version.
- Generate statistical data when required.
- Support in the Calibration of testing equipment, measures etc.
- Supporting line manager where required.
- Additional allocated tasks as discussed and agreed with your line manager and Head of HSEQ&C.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide a Clerk of Works or finishing Manager service across the full range of work undertaken within the manufacturing factory.
- Agree joint quality control procedures with the Quality Assurance Manager in accordance with requirements and audit such procedures and records to ensure that quality assurance audits are effective and efficient.
- Maintain a critical but constructive relationship with the supervisory staff.
- Examine specifications and drawings and ensure that any aspects which are not satisfactory are rectified.
- Prepare specifications and issue direct orders for various minor works and defects.
- Liaise with visiting inspectors (e.g. Clients, etc).
- Carry out duties to meet Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensure excellent channels of communication exist with, staff and contractors to ensure issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
- Undertake continuing professional development.
- Such other minor and/or non-recurring duties, appropriate to the post as may be directed.
- Autodesk ACC – utilise current system to process activity.
