Bathroom Pod Install Complete at Oxygen Towers
All 638 bathroom pods are now installed for Oxygen Towers, Manchester a 31 storey neighbourhood in the city’s emerging Piccadilly Basin.
Last month the contractor Russell WBHO celebrated the “Topping Out” of the building showing how bathroom pods can be installed in sync with other major work on site.
Six different types of pod were manufactured for the scheme, seeing main bathrooms and en-suites of varying sizes being manufactured. All were floorless at the request of the client to ensure a continuous floor finish throughout the apartments.
Deliveries to site commenced just four weeks after production started followed by a manufacture and delivery program resulting in the just-in-time delivery of pods to site in line with Russell WBHO’s construction schedule.
“A bathroom pod solution is a no brainer for a development of this scale. We have eradicated the need for multiple trades on site and the management that these require” commented Kevin Arthur, Head of Sales at Elements Europe.
“We have also helped Russell WBHO reduce the environmental impact of the development on Manchester. By using a bathroom pod solution there are no material delivered to site or large amounts of tradesmen driving to site everyday” he added.
