First Modules Installed at Cambridge Student Scheme
Elements Europe has successfully completed the first delivery of modules this week to Pickstock Construction’s Cambridge student accommodation scheme.
Elements Europe is again working alongside Pickstock Construction to offer a high-quality modular solution.
Elements Europe has worked closely with architects Jefferson Sheard and Pickstock Construction to modularise the triangular shaped building for its client.
This week has seen the first of the 98 Room Modules installed. All room modules, floor and ceiling corridor cassettes, light steel frame panels and roof cassettes will be craned into position in just 4 weeks.
The former petrol station site is on the corner of a busy junction leading into the city. A key consideration for this project has been logistics and deliveries. These have been scheduled to ensure minimal disruption to commuters and local residents.
When completed the building will have retail outlets on the ground floor with three floors of high-quality student accommodation above. Part of the third floor includes a mansard roof which will also be modularised.
The 98 rooms are made up of 75 studios and 23 en-suite rooms that offer students at the University of Cambridge a modern yet comfortable place to live during their studies.
Dave Malkin, Site Manager commented: “Our experience working alongside Elements Europe is one that is fine-tuned, we can therefore ensure a quick and efficient install of modules.”
