IT Support Technician

We are currently looking for an experienced IT Support Technician on a full-time permanent contract to join the team at our head office in Telford.

Following substantial investment by a leading global construction firm, GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C), Elements Europe have a number of large projects in the pipeline and is looking to scale up the delivery capability with immediate effect.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for IT Support Technician to join our team. The role will involve, reporting and communicating with the Head of IT you will be maintaining and running all network and hardware requirements for two sites within the Shropshire area.

Requirements

  • New User/PC setup, occasional PC/Server Build
  • Network config & use. Switching & Cat6 termination
  • Working in Office 365 Environment.
  • Administration of Anti-Virus software
  • Repairing Hardware such as Laptops, PCs and Printers to minimise disruption to end users
  • Contribute to department knowledgebase
  • Remote support via TeamViewer
  • Assisting with ongoing IT projects
  • Respond to system down requests immediately
  • Create and maintain company reports
  • End user Support.

Skill Set

  • A qualification/education in an IT related field
  • Previous experience in an IT Helpdesk/Project environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills,
  • Experience with Office 365 administration,
  • Experience of Virtual machines.
  • VPN Knowledge.
  • Proven experience of troubleshooting Hardware and Software problems
  • Ability to work independently or part of a small team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technically minded end users
  • Liaising with 3rd party support teams/consultants
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • ‘Can-do’ positive attitude essential
  • Quick to learn and able to adapt to change of environment
  • Due to the nature of the role a flexible approach to working hours is required as out of hours support maybe required
  • Willingness to learn new skills
